When is a down experience an up experience?
When you visit the Turda Salt Mine in Romania. The lake at the bottom of the mine, where you can row boats, breath salubrious air, and absorb the mysterious, mystical light.

Dear Vladut,
Thanks for sending the dances. We absolutely loved your workshop! And I’m bringing your dances back to my groups in the USA,
Some questions on names.
1. What do the complete names mean? How would you translate them into English?
2. We learned the second dance name as Alunelul lui Viorel. Should I use that name? Or Alunulel de la Daneti 3 Ori” ? What does it mean?
3. I wrote down Tocul from Dolj to use as the name of the dance. Is this okay? What does “pentru repetitie de 3 ori” mean?
Multsumesc for a great workshop!
Jim

Dear Jim
1. Boiereasca: You can translate in English like manorial
2. Alunelui lui Viorel de la Daneti – Viorel: Alunelu form Daneti Village (de 3 ori means that it is repeat the same phrase three times.)
3. Tocul – The heel from Goicea Village Dolj county :(pentru repetitie means for repetiton three times the same musical phrase, you can also dance more ore less, like 5 times) but it like a first name and it does not have translation in English it is recommended to use the original name.
Have a nice day!
Dear Travelers,

Our Romania tour starts today! All our travelers are arriving by plane.
Here’s our first day program:
August 6: Sunday: BUCHAREST Arrival in Bucharest. Meet our guide at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Check-in. 19:00 pick up for the welcome dinner with folk show at Hanu’ lui Manuc Restaurant, a traditional one. Overnight in Capital Plaza Hotel 4*/Bucharest – http://www.capitalplaza.ro/lang-en/ (D)
I had a delicious business lunch and with travel agents, Mirela and Ann. Many new Romania tour ideas were floated. We also went over the day-to-day itinerary of our folk dance tour, which starts tomorrow!
It’s my second day in Bucharest.I just had a long, long rest (no wonder its called Bucharest). And I love it!
Did you know that the Israeli hora
comes from Romania?
Dear Travelers,
Our tour to Romania keeps getting better!
I just received word from our Romanian agency that:
1. Instead of two meals a day (as advertised), we’ll be getting three meals a day in charming restaurants at no extra cost!
2. On the last day of our trip we have been upgraded to one of the finest hotels in Bucharest!
See details I the email from Mirela below.
See you in Bucharest!
Jim
Dear Jim,
Ref. Accommodation – please note one last change: we succeeded to book the group for the last night stay in Bucharest at the Intercontinental Hotel 5* – https://www.ihg.com/intercontinental/hotels/gb/en/bucharest/buhha/hoteldetail
It is also one of the top 5 star hotels in Bucharest, situated at “km O” of the city. The group has access to the Health Club 22nd Floor (indoor swimming pool, terrace, saunas, Jacuzzi, Fitness). You may enjoy the Health Club or take a stroll in the midst of Bucharest, mainly in the old part located only a few minutes walking far from the hotel. I have just received the confirmation from the hotel. We have worked on this for a couple of weeks because we really want you to enjoy the tour and not stay twice at the same hotel. Just look on their site and you will understand why I fought to have the group here.
Kindest regards,
Mirela
Another great folk dance night
at Golden’s Bridge!
On the hottest night of the summer season, our Goldens Bridge dancers rose to the occasion, soaring and soring in muscle-loosening temperatures to Balkan beauties such as Pravo Horo, Jove Male Mome, U Sest, along with Israeli favorites Harmonica, HaRoa Haktana, Erev Ba, and more.
Jim also taught Mihai David’s Romanian shepherd’s dance Mocaneasca.
Also. all our August folk dance teachers showed up to dance!
Michael and Cindy Rosenbaum, Linda Mansdorf and Mike Sternberg, and Arthur Rosenfeld are ready to teach their dances and lead Goldens Bridge folk dance favorites in August.
See Folk Dance Schedule.
See you dancing next Friday!
Jim
