Dear Folk Dancers,

A folk dance a day keeps the doctor away.
Every crisis is an opportunity in disguise.
Difficult situations offers both positive and negative pathways.
The art of life is to find the positive ones, then walk, run, and dance on these pathways.

In light of these words, I suggest an program to be followed during this Coronovirus period, an historic crisis situation, filled with many unknowns and uncertainties. Today, in the period of quarantines and social distancing many dancers are stuck at home. What to do with this sudden extra free time?

Here’s my suggestion:

All the dances in it are demonstrated on Youtube videos. Thus, you can easily (or not so easily) learn the dances.Also, since each Youtube video comes with written dance instructions, Here’s an opportunity to learn how to read folk dance instructions.

A dance a day keeps the doctor away.
Two or more release happiness heeling endorphins!
And even better, the benefits increase exponentially with each dance you learn!

Meditate on a word, a sound, both.
Learn to slow down and be patient. Ugh.
But I know learning patience is good mental training for me.

Nine-Month Return to the Old Neighborhood
Am I being punished for my arrogance?
Somehow I like that thought.
However, it could also be an excuse to slip back into the old neighborhood.
Yet since I turned 80, I have been besieged by a catalogue of miseries, or at least annoyances—all, I believe, created in my own imagination. But nevertheless, they are “imagined,” they are all happening, or at least I am making them come true. I am brining my artistic creations into being, into fruition, even though all of them are a bunch of miseries.
Can I be thankful that my artistic brain creates such miseries “in order to protect me from greater fears” as s Sarno would explain?
