About Adam Molnar
Adam has his Ph.D. in Oriental Studies, and has lectured in the history, languages, anthropology, and religious history of Central Asia at the University of Szeged, Southern Hungary. His book "Weather-Magic in Inner Asia" was published in Bloomington, Indiana.

He is Secretary of the International Society for Shamanistic Research, publishes "Shaman", journal of the society as well as a book series and journal of "Hungarian Heritage" for the European Folklore Institute. As a guide, he offers programs in Hungarian folk dance, music and crafts.


         

Our Itinerary Map    Travel Tips

Day 1: Tuesday, July 27:
Depart for Budapest.

Day 2: Wednesday, July 28:
Arrive in Budapest. Meet your guide at airport and transfer to hotel. Orientation walk in city center. Dinner and all overnights in Budapest’s Hotel Carlton.

Day 3: Thursday, July 29:
Half-day sight-seeing in Budapest with a visit to the Museum of Ethnography. Afternoon free Dinner followed by evening concert or tanchaz.

Day 4: Friday, July 30:
Half-day side trip to the charming artist colony of Szentendre including the Open-Air Museum Village. Lunch in a typical Hungarian restaurant. Continue to Esztergom and Visegrad. Overnight in Esztergom.

Day 5: Saturday, July 31:
In the morning drive to the village of Holloko, an UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, then enjoy the 16th International Hungarian-Slovakian Folk Festival in Paszto. Overnight in Matrafured.

Day 6: Sunday, August 1:
Drive on to the town of Eger across the Matra Hills. Sightseeing, visit Mezokovesd, see museum village, meet craftspeople and folk dance worskshop. Overnight in Mezokovesd.

Day 7: Monday, August 2:
Full-day workshop at the Jászberény Folk Music and Folk Dance Camp. Dinner. Evening tanchaz. 0vernight at Jaszbereny.

Day 8: Tuesday, August 3:
A full-day workshop at the Jaszbereny Folk Music and Folk
Dance Camp. Overnight in Jaszbereny.

Day 9: Wednesday, August 4:
Drive to Budapest International Airport. Fly home or:
